YOU HAVE A HIDDEN PLACE OF PRIVILEGE AND PROTECTION

Did you know that you, your spirit, was crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20)? You died and your life is hidden in the Father through Jesus (Colossians 3:3). This occurred when you believed in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. At that moment your sinful nature, which was the condition of your spirit, passed away and a fresh, new spirit was born (2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified). You died with Christ, you were buried with Him and raised to this new life (Romans 6:1-6). In other words, Jesus was your substitute, suffering and dying on the cross, but you received all the benefits from what He accomplished. In your spirit, you are in union with Jesus and share His life (Ephesians 2:5). Through Jesus you are filled with the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Colossians 2:10). You share in their divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Because you were raised with Jesus to this new life, you have joint seating with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) now while you live on this earth; as Jesus is so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). The truth of this is beyond human understanding and requires revelation by the Holy Spirit Who leads you into all truth. But the Spirit of God has been given to you so that you may know these truths (1 Corinthians 2:12). Understanding them provides important groundwork for understanding your privileged and protected provision by Almighty God.

Based on these truths, know that you dwell in the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91:1). You are safe as you trust in Him. Dwelling there you have the opportunity of being “stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty (whose power no foe can withstand) (Psalm 91:1 Amplified). This is your position of confidence and rest. God is your Refuge and your Fortress. There you have the privilege of relying on Him and confidently trusting Him (Psalm 91:2 Amplified).

Your position gives you an inheritance of God’s protection and His power at work on your behalf. He “rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards” (Psalm 91:3 Message). This means you have the opportunity through His protection to avoid being trapped or tripped up by the enemy. The devil may bait you with deceit, lies, and distractions, but you will not fall into deception if you recognize your position of refuge in the Lord, the One Who delivers you from the enemy’s grip. This privileged position is not of your striving or strength. It is because of Jesus and His finished work of the cross. God’s “huge outstretched arms protect you; under them, you are perfectly safe; His arms fend off all harm” (Psalm 91:4 Message). You partner with God, submit yourself to Him, resist the devil and he flees from you (James 4:7). This truth should give you assurance and a vision of hope. It should help you to see and know with certainty that God’s shield of favor is about you (Psalm 5:12 Amplified). Knowing these truths allows you to live from them in this high position of being hidden in God Almighty, in the One with power the enemy can’t stand against.

Hidden in God your Refuge, fear nothing! Fear no attacks of the enemy; not his fiery darts against God’s Word or attacks against your mind or emotions, nor any sickness or disease, nor any disaster that tries to come against you (Psalm 91:5,6 Message). You may receive reports from people or other sources that cause you to consider that these things are simply the way of the world but don’t be tempted to look away from God’s truth. Live above the temptations of the world because you are hidden in the Father, a citizen of heaven. And because you believe His truths, you will live in the manifestation of them (Luke 1:45). “Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you” if you believe that God is your Refuge (Psalm 91:7 Message).

“Yes, because God is your Refuge, the High God Who is your very own home, evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door” (Psalm 91:9,10 Message). The enemy will try to bait you, getting a foot in the door as he persuades you with natural events and circumstances that are subject to change compared to God’s everlasting Word (2 Corinthians 4:18; Isaiah 40:8). But God will pull you back and capture your gaze if you allow Him, as He brings back to your remembrance His truth. God’s Word of instruction is life and provides the armor of a heavily armored soldier for you, making it possible for you to stand firm on His Word against anything that contradicts it (Ephesians 6:11,13 Amplified).

God has confirmed that He has “ordered His angels to guard you wherever you go” (Psalm 91:11 Message). “If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling” (Psalm 91:12 Message). You will walk unharmed in the presence of evil that tries to intimidate you (Psalm 91:13 Message) if you believe in God’s truth and the power of His refuge for you.

God says, “If you’ll hold on to Me for dear life, I will get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best care if you’ll only get to know and trust Me” (Psalm 91:14 Message). Knowledge of Him helps you to receive and participate in everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).

The Lord says, “Call Me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you… I’ll give you a long life” and you will participate in My gift of salvation (Psalm 91:15,16 Message). Jesus prepared a way for you to enter into the presence of God without fear or dread, but in expectation of receiving mercy for your failures and help exactly when you need it (Hebrews 4:16 Amplified). This is how the God of peace treats His children who are the joy set before Him, His precious treasures (Hebrews 13:20; Hebrews 12:2).
