My Journey
The journey that has brought me to this place is about surrender, committing myself to the Lord. And this commitment has occurred because Jesus has shown me His love. On the foundation of love, I have given my life to Him. The result of this has been extraordinary! I have lived a life beyond myself. This life of surrender has resulted in hearing from the Lord in such a way that His word to me and through me, has poured into the lives of others as they too are moved by His love. This occurred while I taught Bible study in the Chesapeake City Jail for several years. Teaching Bible study became a stepping stone to helping create A Place of New Beginnings, a faith based nonprofit reentry program for people released from the jail. Growing in the Lord and seeking His will, in what seemed an unlikely move from the reentry program, God relocated my husband and I to western New York, to purchase a bed and breakfast and become innkeepers. His plan was well beyond innkeeping, as the Word of the Lord was spoken daily there, and people were drawn to the inn for an experience of peace that they did not fully understand. Then suddenly after four years, God brought someone to buy the inn, although not for sale at the time. Returning back to Virginia from New York offered me the opportunity to become more deeply intimate with Jesus; it seemed to be a time of separation from work and more time with Him. As intimacy grew, so did the blessing of hearing Him speak to me by revelation and giving me encouraging words to share with others. The desire rose steadily in me to share what He was teaching me; it was bursting from me! Thus, “Jesus Focused” was birthed from the beautiful outpouring of the Lord’s love for me and for others that would hear Him speak.
It is with a grateful heart, that I am blessed to share God’s word with you. My desire is a prayer from Ephesians 1:17-20: “(For I always pray to) the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation (of insight into mysteries and secrets) in the (deep and intimate) knowledge of Him, by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), and (so that you can know and understand) what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of his power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His (own) right hand in the heavenly (places),” (Amplified Version).
As Jesus has captured my gaze, let Him capture yours too!
