What you possess is for His glory, but do you believe?

What does this mean to you and for you? You are united with Jesus, having His presence living in you and therefore, His power. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you (Ephesians 1:19). You were born-again by the Spirit and possess the Spirit of Jesus Christ given to you by the Father (Galatians 4:6). What is the reality of this for you? Let’s look at a glimpse of this reality.

Remember the woman with the issue of blood? She heard about Jesus, just like you hear about Him when you read His Word. She believed what she heard which prompted her to do something. That something was to pursue Jesus in a crowd of people. What she did was not acceptable. She was bleeding and this required her to separate herself. But because she heard about Jesus and because she believed what she heard she pursued Him. What did she hear about Him? (Mark 5:25-28)

She heard that He was a Healer and about the people that benefitted from His healing. We know this because Scripture says that she kept saying, “If I can only touch His garments I shall be made well”. Only touch His garments? WOW, she must have believed He had such power, that even the garments that clung to His body would release what she needed into her body. She was in a desperate situation; her bleeding had continued for twelve years despite treatment by many physicians. (Mark 5:25-28; Luke 8:43)

Luke 8:44 says that the woman touched the border of Jesus’ garment, which suggests that she may have been on her hands and knees. Maybe she did this in order that her presence was less noticeable by the crowd that she was forbidden to go near. Her behavior, however, shows determination to receive from Jesus, and a belief in His power.

Upon touching His garment, a miracle occurred! Without Jesus saying a word like, “Be healed” or any other word, the woman received her healing! She knew the flow of blood had stopped; she perceived it! (Mark 5:29; Luke 8:44) And Jesus perceived that power had gone out from Him (Mark 5:30; Luke 8:46) Glory to God! But again, what does that mean for you?

You are united with the Jesus and therefore, that same power that the woman was seeking by touching Jesus’ garment, is actually present right now inside of you, one with your spirit! That same power that was released because the woman heard about Jesus and believed, is now present, living in your spirit! You have that blood stopping power living in you!

In case you need more proof of God’s power, step outside. Look at a blade of grass, so simple, and yet man cannot recreate this. Look at the flowers, each tiny detail of its magnificence and color. Look at the sky, the sun, the moon and the stars; man did not place them there with the means to stay suspended. Scripture says that all of this was done by the power of God’s Word (Genesis 1; Isaiah 45:2,17; Psalm 19:1; Jeremiah 32:17; Psalm 33:6; Nehemiah 9:6). Hebrews 1:3 says that “He is upholding the universe by the word of His power”. You possess His power!

The question is, will you believe it? You have heard the Word, just like the woman with the issue of blood. When she heard she believed and responded. Will you believe and respond? Her response caused her to act. What will you do to act upon the word of God that you believe? Remember the man who was asking Jesus for a miracle for his ill son, he told Jesus that he believed, but he also recognized that he had some unbelief and asked Jesus’ help with this. Jesus was willing than and He is willing now. (Mark 9:23,24) He wants you to hear, to listen, to believe and participate in all that He has blessed you with. He is compassionate; He was moved with compassion toward humanity and that is why He sent Jesus to die for you. He is moved with compassion toward you now. He loves you! That is why He gave you the same power that He possesses. Ephesians 1:18-21 (Amplified) confirms a prayer to the Father: “May the Father give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), and (so that you can know and understand) what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for you who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His (own) right hand in the heavenly (places), far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named… WOW! You have raising from the dead power living in your spirit right now!

The Holy Spirit that you possess is God’s guarantee of the inheritance that He promised you (Ephesians 1:14). Part of that inheritance is His power. He has purchased you as His own by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He did this so “you would praise and glorify Him” (Ephesians 1:14). His power within your spirit, for you and through you, is for His honor. His power within your spirit glorifies Him! That means His power must be on display and not remain hidden in your spirit. The woman with the issue of blood shows us, that God’s power is able to flow outward, if we believe and place a demand upon it.

This extraordinary truth may be difficult to comprehend with your mind, but "you were given the Holy Spirit that you may know the things that have been freely given to you by God" (1 Corinthians 2:12). God Almighty desired you to be blessed in this way. He desired that you be filled with all of His divine fullness, that you might live a life in His abundance (2 Peter 1:4; John 10;10) for His glory. His power in and through you is an expression of His love for you and through you to others. Believe and let His power flow!
