WHAT KINGDOM ARE YOU LIVING IN?

There are two kingdoms. The kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness or worldly kingdom where satan is the ruler (John 16:11). Which kingdom are you living in? As a child of God, He says that you are not of this world (John 17:14). He confirms that He has “delivered and drawn you to Himself out of the control and dominion of darkness and has transferred you into the Kingdom of the Son of His love” (Amplified Colossians 1:13); this occurs the moment that you believe in Jesus Christ. However, you may be unaware that at times you are functioning as if you were living in the kingdom of darkness. You may demonstrate this by your attitudes, words, and thoughts that do not line up with God’s way of speaking or thinking. You may demonstrate behaviors such as being anxious, fearful, or confused, behaving like you lack peace, strength, or God’s ability. You may live as if you believe God has not heard your prayer because you don’t see the results, having prayed according to His Word which is His will. This world is a great draw for causing us to live in the wrong kingdom.

You must fight and take your stand to live in the Kingdom of God where you were destined to live out your life on this earth. In His Kingdom, you fight to stand with the weapon of His Word. This weapon is alive and active, and it will never fail! It is a weapon that contains God’s faith for you to use. It is a weapon that is sharper than any two-edged sword. It is a weapon that is like a hammer that breaks things to pieces and is like a fire. It is a weapon with a purpose that will always be fulfilled and go to the heart of the matter. (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 10:17; Jeremiah 23:29; Isaiah 55:11).

Living in God’s Kingdom you are equipped with the fruit of the Spirit, with His divine fullness, with “gift heaped upon gift, and favor upon favor” with His abundance; with His full supply of everything you need for life and godliness (Galatians 5:22,23; John 1:16; 2 Peter 1:3). You are equipped to “heal the sick… to raise the dead and cast out demons” (Matthew 10:8) You have freely received from God according to His love and now He wants you to live from His Kingdom and freely give (Matthew 10:8)!

In God’s Kingdom you “reign as a king in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) (Amplified Romans 5:17). This is overflowing grace (unearned abundant blessing) for you (Romans 5:17). This is God’s gift of righteousness (making you just as if you have never sinned) to you (Romans 5:17). This understanding should empower you and cause you to place God above everything in your life.

The presence of the Holy Spirit within you places you in the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 2:12). There you have access to the Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. He leads you to all truth (John 14:26; John 16:13). Daily He hears the Father and tells you what He is saying (John 16:13).

As a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven, you come boldly to the throne room of grace to receive help whenever you need it (Hebrews 4:16). This means that you live above the circumstances of trial and tribulation; you do not live beneath them. Circumstances should not control you. God should control you. You should surrender to Him as a citizen of heaven, allowing His strength to be your strength, allowing His wisdom and ability to be yours. To live from your ability and leaning to your understanding would cause you to live from this worldly kingdom of limitation, weakness, and failure.

Kingdom living means that you are God’s workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). He has given you unity with Jesus Christ. Due to His workmanship, you are an overcomer, more than a conqueror (1 John 5:4,5; Romans 8:37)! This is your inheritance as His child. Decide to stay well-balanced, undisturbed, and steadfast upon His attributes within you. The Word of God confirms your position.

Living outside of God’s Kingdom means the lies and the deceits of the enemy have distracted you. Buying into the enemy’s way of thinking deprives you of living the empowered life you were created to live. Giving place to these lies sow seeds of doubt against God’s Word. Living in God’s Kingdom, however, means you are living according to His established life-giving Word. The Word will help you to endure challenges with patient endurance and joy. As you go through life’s storms, His impenetrable shield of favor will surround you (Amplified Psalm 5:12). In His strength, you are equipped to go through to victory. You will not be disturbed amid trial. His peace will guard your heart as you decide to keep your attention on good, holy, lovely, and blessed things, which is His Word (Philippians 4:8). God’s Word will sustain you and His presence will lift you up. Knowing all this by faith, even in the presence of struggles, will cause you to praise Him at all times. Remember, His truth is not measured by the circumstance you are experiencing, but by His Word. Assess everything by the eyes of faith. This is Kingdom living!
