What is your position? What does that position provide you with? Are you tapping into the victory that this position has provided for you?
“My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives His life through me; we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that He gave Himself for me, dispensing His life into mine” (Galatians 2:20 TPT).
God’s fullness resides in you; in Christ, you are filled with the Godhead; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in you! You possess His divine fullness. (Colossians 2:9,10; 2 Peter 1:4).
This is your position, an intimate union with Jesus Christ; you are benefitting from His fullness as the Son of God! (Colossians 1:19)
This is a profound truth. But what lie is the enemy threatening you with to distract you from this truth, to interfere with your position as a child of God filled with His fullness? Maybe the lies, strategies, and temptation to look away from the Lord looks like this: disease, sickness, lack, doubt, comparison. Or maybe the enemy sounds like this: “You are not loved; you are weak; you’re not an overcomer; you can’t fulfill God’s good plan for your life because you are too stupid to do what He is asking; God doesn’t really love you the way that you think; you have failed too many times”. The enemy wants you to be self-centered and look away from God, away from His truth. He wants you to evaluate your circumstances and who you are, according to what you see with your natural eyes, believe with your senses, experience with your emotions, or lean on your own understanding.
God wants you to know that He has fully equipped you by your position in Him. Through your relationship with the Lord, you need Him to unveil within you the “unlimited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power” (Ephesians 3:16 TPT). Your position in Christ means that you possess immeasurable and unlimited resurrection power, the same power that God used when He raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him in heavenly places at His right hand (Ephesians 1:19,20).
Positioned in Christ, you have His faith (Galatians 2:20). Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You have been given the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You possess the same faith as Peter and the apostles (2 Peter 1:1). By God’s work in you, by using your faith, “the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life” (Ephesians 3:17 TPT). Gaining knowledge from the Word helps you to understand your position of power in Christ!
The Passion Translation explains: “May grace and perfect peace cascade over you as you live in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ our Lord. Everything you could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in you by His divine power. For all this was lavished upon you through the rich experience of knowing Him who has called you by name and invited you to come to Him through a glorious manifestation of His goodness” (2 Peter 1:2,3). It all depends on what you know and believe.
Positioned in Christ means you are positioned in Peace, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and positioned in love, for God is Love (1 John 4:7,8)! You may not think that peace and love are related to His power, but both are weapons against the tactics of the enemy to deceive you, as they keep you steadfast and well-balanced in every situation.
The finished work of the cross equipped you with everything you need to live life on this earth as a child of God with your full inheritance. But His benefits are dependent upon knowledge of Him, a revelation by the Holy Spirit, so that you may gain understanding and live through His fullness. As a child of God, you have not been given a spirit of this world, “but the Spirit who is from God, that you might know the things that have been freely given to you by God” (1 Corinthians 2:12). You are equipped with His Spirit to know these things, to be knowledgeable of God and His Son, Jesus.
To know God’s truth, you must allow the Holy Spirit to transform your thinking, so that by His supernatural work you will understand what God says. John 16:13 ESV states: “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
God requests you to transform your mind according to His Word: “… be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His eyes” (TPT Romans 12:2). The power of the Word transforms your thinking as you gain understanding of His truths. Reforming your mind means you must “intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word! For this milk will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life, especially now that you have had a taste of the goodness of Yahweh and have experienced His kindness” (1 Peter 2:2,3 TPT).
Your position in Christ has caused you to be recreated into His image and to possess His fullness. “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]” (Ephesians 2:10 TPT). This Scripture explains that now positioned in Christ, you have the privilege, His equipping, the opportunity to live life from His divine fullness, with His potential to fulfill your destiny. You live as a citizen of heaven while on this earth, revealing His Kingdom to the world!
As God has explained, your life is not your own (Galatians 2:20). Therefore, you live submitted to Him. As you renew your mind to His truth, you no longer live by the dictates of this world; you are not influenced by worldly thinking as the Greater One lives in you. You are a child of God, and the work of the presence of the Holy Spirit is transforming, changing your thinking, and causing you to bear much fruit (Galatians 5:22,23).
God’s truth is everlasting and confirmed by the blood sacrifice of Jesus. In unity with Him, He has positioned you to be strengthened, made complete and perfect, and recreated you to be His child according to His original plan of creation. He has equipped you with everything good that you may carry out His plan for your life as He does the work in you to accomplish what is pleasing in His sight. He receives the glory from this transformation and your life lived for Him (Hebrews 13:20,21 Amp). He is responsible for “creating in you the power and desire both to will and to work for His good pleasure…” (Philippians 2:13 Amp). Knowing this helps you to stop striving and trust His work in your lives. You rest as you trust Him!
Positioned in Jesus, you are positioned in the Vine, as you are the branch. You are the abiding branch receiving His divine fullness and ability as He performs the work in and through you. It’s His strength, His ability, and He gets the glory! You are to live submitted to Jesus, believing His Word, so His life may flow in and through you. You are positioned in Him to rest, to submit to all that He is, to be in expectation of His fullness present within you.
