Stop wondering if… God has already done it!

Have you ever noticed all that God has established through Jesus Christ? What He has established cannot be changed; He has blessed, and it cannot be reversed (Numbers 23:20). In His abundance, according to His kindness, goodness, love, and mercy, God has poured out His blessing until it overflows (John 10:10). This is our inheritance as children of God. The inheritance is meant to be received as a daily benefit. We don’t earn it or work for it. It is a provision of grace waiting for us to receive as we participate with Him as partners. Whatever you need, Jesus has provided it before you were born. Too amazing to be true? What does the Word say? What has God established?

Everything we need for life and godliness has been prepared for us by God. It is through knowledge of God and Jesus Christ, His Son (2 Peter 1:3), by an intimate relationship with Him, that we understand, experience, and receive His provision. There is no exclusion. Jesus’ finished work of the cross has caused your need to be met. God says, “I did not withhold or spare (even) My own Son but gave Him up for you all, will I not also with Him freely and graciously give you all (other) things (Romans 8:32)? Our journey as Christians is discovering the promises, believing the Word, and being hopeful in faith.

God established, through the work of Jesus, that every sin is forgiven. Jesus offered one sacrifice, once for all for our sins (Hebrews 10:12). Jesus “put away and abolished sin by His sacrifice” (Amplified Hebrews 9:26).

God has supplied us with resurrection power, a power that is immeasurable and unlimited (Amplified Ephesians 1:19).

By God’s power present in us, and by Jesus' defeat of satan by the cross, we have His ability to resist the devil and expect Him to flee from us (James 4:7).

He established that Jesus' name is above every name (Philippians 2:9,10). We are encouraged to ask in Jesus’ name, and the Father will be glorified by our asking and receiving (John 14:13,14).

God has established that we have the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). We possess the same precious faith that Peter and the apostles had (2 Peter 1:1) because we are children of God. This is given to us as a gift by God through Jesus (2 Peter 1:1).

God established that the moment we believe in Jesus, our old sinful nature is dead, and we share a union with Christ, and therefore also with Him (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:15). He has given us His Spirit, so that we may be one with Him (1 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Galatians 4:6). And with that change in our nature, we become overcomers against the enemy’s tactics and lies (1 John 4:4; 1 John 5:4,5). We become more than conquerors, enjoying Jesus’ finished work (Romans 8:37)!

By the finished work of the cross, God established that by the stripes of Jesus Christ we were healed (Isaiah 53:4,5; 1 Peter 2:24; Deuteronomy 28). This confirms His will for us, and by His Word, He provides instruction about receiving this benefit.

God has established that grace and peace are multiplied to us “in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:1). This refers to an intimate knowing of God and Jesus, which results in an experience of His grace and peace.

He has established that His Word has purpose. It will never return to Him void without fulfilling the purpose for which it was sent (Isaiah 55:11). God confirms that His Word is living, active, and filled with power (Hebrews 4:12).

These are fundamental truths from the Word of God. Understanding what He has established helps us to stop striving and being frustrated, wondering if God will do it. Instead, understanding His truth causes us to be immovable and determined in faith, as we are rooted in God’s truth, rooted in what He has already done. It should raise our expectation. Hebrews 10:35,36 (Amplified) confirms it this way: “Do not therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need for steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away (and enjoy to the full) what is promised.” It is easier to rest and be steadfast when you know you already have it, that God has already blessed you.

Therefore, be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). Be in expectation of what He has already established for you through His Son Jesus Christ, and be delighted in the goodness of God!
