Have you ever experienced prayer that seems unanswered? This may have frustrated you, even caused you to doubt God’s Word, His goodness, His love and maybe His ability. Having a revelation of His love, however, changes everything!
Understanding God’s love for you is the foundation of your life! However, we frequently judge His love by our circumstances and leaning to our own understanding. We evaluate and judge Him by natural events and not by His Word. However, “with both feet planted firmly on His love, you will be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love; reach out and experience the breadth of it” (Message: Ephesians 3:17-19) Rooted in His love you will be strong. God’s love is meant to be experienced! And it is by revelation of His love, that when facing tribulations or trials, we remain trusting and confident, without harsh accusations against Him Who loves us unconditionally. Remember, God does not tempt us; “God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone” (James 1:13). He is always for us (Romans 8:31).
When prayer seems unanswered, if you don’t know the extravagance of His love for you, you may think, ‘WOW God, You have just let me out here to dangle in the wind’. Or you might have a vision of dangling from a cliff with someone holding on to one of your hands from above, but you are getting ready to fall; the hold is not secure. Basically, what you are saying is ‘God don’t You care about me?’
This takes us back to understanding His love. Having revelation of God’s love, leads you to evaluate your situation differently. The love that brought Jesus to the cross and to suffer for you, would never be responsible for holding back anything from you. Rather, He would do everything possible to help you receive the benefits that He has already provided to you. God’s Word is critical, however, so that you know the benefits that He has provided. This should give you great hope, and hope in Him never disappoints (Romans 5:5)!
In the midst of your struggle, you are not too difficult for the Lord. The work that He started in you, He will finish (Philippians 1:6). Do not let what you don’t understand, stop you from believing in what you do understand. Remain intimate with Him, knowing He is mighty and able, and that you are His special possession (1 Peter 2:9)! He saved you when you were a sinner; Jesus died for your sins, to redeem you, and make you holy and blameless (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 1:4,7). How much more will He do for you now that you are His child (Romans 5:9,10)? He gave Jesus, His Son, as a sacrifice for you, to be in relationship with you! So, with this revelation from God, you examine these hard places in your life much differently, willing to endure patiently and with joy, as you trust the Lord, staying focused on Him and remaining confident in Him. After all, God has proved His love for you; you possess His Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).”
Pride may tell you that you are too stubborn and difficult for God to help you gain knowledge and receive His blessings that cannot be reversed. Humility, however, says, “here I am Lord; I trust in Your ability to help me and continue to watch over Your Word that does a work in me. I’m not too far gone for You! I ‘m not too difficult for You! I’m Your child, Your workmanship, and I am created for great things. You have an excellent plan for me. I won’t let what I don’t know change or steal from me that which I do know!”
God’s love and blessing to you depends upon His goodness, not yours! And He has already proved His goodness by the cross! There are no barriers to keep you from receiving from the Lord. Your life, humbly surrendered to God, means you believe His Word. You continue in fellowship with Him, enjoying His company, and remain in expectation of participating in His benefits, and experiencing His glory. God has done great and amazing things for you! And your life, because of intimacy with Him, will be a display of His glory. Of this you may be confident because the Greater One lives in you. He can’t be contained!
When you know God’s love, prayers that seem unanswered are met with an attitude of confidence in God because you have revelation of His love, a love that intends for you to experience life in abundance and overflowing now on this earth (John 10:10). Prayers that seem unanswered are met with a determination to seek Him as your vital necessity rather than pushing Him away in frustration or doubt. Instead, you approach Him with expectation that He has provided everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3), and therefore, based on His love, you know your need is met; you have persistent faith in what He has done. You seek Him for wisdom and revelation, because trials and tribulations do not deter you from a determination to receive the fullness of what Jesus died to give you. Understanding His love for you changes everything!

I approach dear Abba humbly, as His little child climbing into my Abba’s lap and talking with Him honestly about whomever I am praying for and simply asking for and believing that Abba will miraculously do whatever I ask in Jesus’ name as long as what I pray for is Abba’s will. I thank Abba for His great love us, for sending His son, Jesus to bring us to Him at such a great cost, and for all of His bountiful blessings.
I realize that Abba has the big picture and that sometimes what I request would get in the way of His plan to do something even better. I also realize that my reference of time is not Hi…
