CHOOSE YOUR THOUGHTS, YOUR LIFE WILL FOLLOW

Did you know that your life will go in the direction of your dominant thoughts? So, what are you thinking about? Proverbs 23:7 states, “As you think within yourself, that is how you are.” What you think about paints a picture. These thoughts guide your daily choices and actions, create your attitude, and even cause an emotional response. God wants to influence your thoughts; He wants to paint a picture of His truth. God’s desire is for your life to go in the direction He has planned for you. You always have a choice. You can allow your circumstances, other people, or the world to paint a picture in your mind as you lean to your own understanding. But this will limit God (Psalm 78:41). Whatever you let into your mind, that is what you will follow.
Remember, God’s Word is a container of power, alive and active, sharper than a two-edged sword; it has purpose, and that purpose will be fulfilled (Hebrews 4:12; Isaiah 55:11). God doesn’t lie. His Word is His everlasting promise and a strong foundation that prevents us from crashing in life. It is a treasure more valuable than gold, and it enlightens you, making you wise (Psalm 19:7,8,10).
As God paints a picture, He tells you how precious you are to Him. He tells you that He gave Jesus Christ, His only Son, as a sacrifice for you (John 3:16). Yes, God knew that you were a sinner, but He was and still is, deeply in love with you; He loves you with a great love rich in compassion and mercy (Ephesians 2:4). He considers you His highly favored daughter, and wanted to offer you a relationship with Him and everlasting life (Ephesians 1:6); He wanted to adopt you as His own (Ephesians 1:5). But this could only happen if Jesus took your place of punishment. That punishment belonged to every human being, but instead, Jesus received what humanity deserved. Because God’s love is so great, He asks nothing in return but that we believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of us all, and His finished work of the cross. Jesus paid the full price for mankind to live completely free of the consequences of sin; Hebrews 10:17 TPT confirms, “I will not ever again remember their sins and lawless deeds!” Your sins have been forgiven and forgotten by Jesus’ one sacrifice (Hebrews 10:18 TPT).
For the believer, we are co-crucified with Christ. Now, because we live in union with Jesus, the essence of His life is our life. Jesus lives His life through us! Our “new life is now empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves you so much that He gave Himself for you, dispensing His life into yours” (Galatians 2:20 TPT).
Throughout Scripture, the truth of God’s love is revealed. He wants you to know His wonderful grace that made you His own. You did nothing to earn His favor; this was a love gift from the Father (Ephesians 2:7-9 TPT).
Compare these truths with your evaluation of yourself. You may see yourself as always falling short, and not living up to God’s standards; perhaps displeasing, and weak. Lies of the enemy and this world may try to nest in your mind, even causing you to consider yourself as not very lovely or lovable. But God’s truth, as noted above, confirms that you are the artistry of His making through His Son Jesus (Ephesians 2:10). You are “molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness]” (Romans 8:29 AMP).
God’s truth is transforming and empowering! But you must know His truth to recognize a lie. This is why you renew your mind to the Word of God, allowing Him to inform you of the truth of who you are. Then, you are not moved by how you feel, what your senses are telling or by your experience. You are only moved by the Word of God; steadfast in hope on the promises of what He says! Your life will go in the direction of His thoughts and plans for your life. Even before you were born, God had a plan for you (Ephesians 2:10). God had a plan “to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect –life in its fullness until it overflows” (John 10:10 TPT) through His Son Jesus.
And if you ever doubt God’s love for you, who He is, or who He created you to be, His desires for you, remember He has “proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son” (Romans 8:32 TPT). His truths about Jesus, what He did, and who you are, are grounded in love. This is the truth that He desires you understand, keeping His thoughts in your mind.
God made you to be more than a conqueror, demonstrating His victory over everything (Romans 8:37 TPT). Live confidently, secure in His love, knowing that nothing can separate you from His love. Let this truth bathe your mind! Nothing will weaken His love for you! Nothing will change His plan for you. Nothing will change who He created you to be. And God never changes! God’s passionate love, through Jesus, has been lavished upon you, transforming you into a beautiful child of God (Romans 8:38,39)! Only your stinkin thinkin can come against God’s truth, trying to dismantle the power of what God says, painting an ugly picture which is a lie. Instead, be informed by God’s thoughts toward you, allowing Him to reveal His masterpiece, YOU! Allow Him to give you revelation of who He is. Allow the supernatural power of His Word to perform its work!
Jesus has established victory for you. He desires that you experience what He has accomplished. You are His joy and the desire of His heart (Hebrews 12:2)! So, listen to Him; He is providing wisdom to you so that you may live your life in His fullness while you are here on earth. Your inheritance and victory as His child are now!
