Cherished Child of God...

There is an intimacy that God desires with us that is difficult to put into words. But the Word of the Lord helps us to understand His magnificent intention. For God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, wanted to die to bring you close to Him…

Throughout Scripture, God reveals His awareness of you and His desire for you; He is watchful and attentive, inclining His ear toward you (Psalm 40:1). There is nothing about you that turns Him away; you are His highly favored child (Luke 1:45; Ephesians 1:6) and you have His full attention. His eyes are always toward you, His child, and His ears are open to your cry (Psalm 34:15). When you cry out, He hears you (Psalm 34:6), and He delivers you from trouble and distress (Psalm 34:17; Psalm 55:16,17). He goes before you and follows you, placing His hand of blessing on your head (Psalm 139:5).

The Lord knows everything about you. You are precious to Him! He is acquainted with all the details of your life (Psalm 139:3). He chose you that you should be holy and without blame before Him in love (Ephesians 1:4). It was His good pleasure to make you His own according to His will (Ephesians 1:5). By the blood of His Son, every sin is forgiven as this is God’s gift of grace so that you may share intimacy with Him (Ephesians 1:7).

Out of His fullness, He has given you His abundance (John 10:10; John 1:16). You share the privilege of His divine fullness (2 Peter 1:4), and all the characteristics of His personality are hidden in your spirit that is united with His (Galatians 5:22, 23; Ephesians 2:5). This all came about due to the intensity of His love for you (Ephesians 2:4)!

As you reflect on this season of Easter, as you reflect on Jesus' humble submission to the Father and the giving of His life, know that His sacrifice was for you! Be rooted and grounded in this truth (Ephesians 3:17). You were the joy that was set before Him when He endured the suffering of the cross (Hebrews 12:2)! You are His joy now and He delights in you!
