As we behold truth, we behold the Living God and we believe

It is by the word of God that we have seen Jesus in the manager. Let us continue to see Him by His word and to believe. His word helps us to touch the wounds on His hands and place our fingers in His side. Then we can say, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:24-28). We are blessed because we believe (John 20:29). The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to see Him and our hearts to receive His truth. We experience His presence by faith, and we know that He is Lord!
The signs written in the Bible were “written that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing we may have life in His name” (John 20:30,31).
Our desire should be to look at God’s word with eyes of wonder, not a scholastic review, but awe-inspiring reality of a living God Who loves us and is actually one with us; He has shared the very essence of Who He is with us!
Each time we look into His word, at the splendor of Him, it should bring us to our knees, realizing that His glory actually resides in us. His word should be proof of this reality; believing before we see or experience His magnificence in this world. We should be in expectation, however, of this experience, as His truth is the foundation of our belief in a magnificent loving God.
There should be nothing ordinary about each day that we live. God Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, resides in us because we believe in His Son. His immeasurable and unlimited power is part of who we are (Ephesians 1:19).
From the creation of the heavens, the world and mankind, to the parting of the Red Sea, to the raising of the dead, provision of manna in the wilderness, birth of Jesus, multiplication of bread and fish, healing of the sick, casting out devils, to the death and resurrection of Jesus, we should look at these signs knowing that the very God responsible for it all, lives in us! In all of His fullness He resides in each believer.
We behold these truths, confirmation of God’s glory, and by faith, receive them as reality as if Jesus were actually living in our very midst, and we were touching Him. This is the power of God’s word, living and active (Hebrews 4:12). This is the power of God’s supernatural power at work. Oh, that the eyes of all men would behold His beauty, His glory, and believe so that His life would be their life.
Knowing we have God’s life living in us, should change everything. With His life present within us we are mighty! Not of ourselves, for in our humanity we are weak. But we are never without Him. So, we are always sufficient and powerful in Him. He empowers us. We are empowered for great things:
We are empowered by the Lord to love (1 John 4:8,10,16; 1 John 4:17).
We are empowered by Him to heal (Ephesians 1:19; Galatians 4:6,7; Ephesians 2:5; Colossians 2:10).
We are empowered by Him to speak boldly (1 John 4:17; Ephesians 2:5; Colossians 2:10).
We are empowered by Him to raise the dead (Ephesians 1:19; Galatians 4:6,7; Ephesians 2:5; Colossians 2:10).
We are empowered by Him to have wisdom (Colossians 2:3; James 1:5).
We are empowered by Him to know His truth (1 Corinthians 2:12,16).
We are empowered by Him to resist satan and expect him to flee from us (James 4:7).
We are empowered by Him to live a well-balanced life, firm in faith, patient and enduring 1 Peter 5:8,9; Hebrews 10:35,36; 2 Peter 1:1).
We are empowered by Him to live an abundant life of prosperity; blessed and a blessing to others (2 Corinthians 9:8-11; Philippians 4:19).
We are empowered by Him to live a life of divine health, to live healed (Isaiah 53:4,5).
We are empowered by Him to live a life free from worry, fear and anxiety; freedom from being disturbed (John 14:1; Philippians 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7; 1 John 4:18).
This is an abiding life because we believe His truth! (Psalm 91)
He is the God of hope. He fills us with joy and peace as we trust in Him. Then we overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). As we trust in the Lord, we are filled with joy and peace. Then, by His power, we overflow with hope. We are not trusting someone or something who or that is frivolous, weak, uncertain, or like the wind. We are trusting in God Who is the everlasting Rock, certain, filled with splendor; One Who has no rival or equal! He is Mighty God! And the fullness of Who He is resides in us; the Rock in Whom we trust.
A prayer for the New Year:
I desire to enter 2024 with the roar of a lion, the Lion of Judah! I desire to be bold in You Lord, determined to experience my inheritance and resist satan so that he flees from me. I desire to stand steadfast and well balanced on Your truth, in Your glory, strengthened by Your immeasurable and unlimited power. I desire to have revelation of Your word with incredible depth of understanding, with faith that is exercised and strong. I desire to know when I am weak, that Your power, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, is present in me and through me. I only want Your strength and truth to move me! In Jesus Name I pray!
