A Word from God Can Change Your Life!

Outlandish; assessing something or someone according to natural thinking as outrageous, ridiculous, preposterous; leaning to your own understanding, and drawing a conclusion.

Outlandish! The angel announced to Mary that she would conceive a Son by the power of the Holy Spirit and He would be called the Son of God (Luke 1:31-35)! Outlandish! The woman with bleeding problems heard things about Jesus; based on what she heard, she confirmed that if she only touched His garment she would be healed (Mark 5:27,28)! Outlandish! Lazarus was dead for four days; but Jesus ordered the gravestone to be removed reminding Lazarus’ sister, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God” (John 11:40) Outlandish! The centurion believed that Jesus did not need to come to his home to heal his servant but only speak commanding words and the power to heal would be released (Matthew 8: 5-13)!

Mary heard and believed. Mary proclaimed “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). The woman with the issue of blood heard and believed. She violated the law that prohibited an individual with blood from touching anyone else. But “she kept saying, If I only touch His garments, I shall be restored to health” (Mark 5:28).   Martha heard and believed. When Jesus suggested the gravestone be removed, Martha confirmed there would be a stench since Lazarus had died four days prior. But Jesus reminded her of what to expect; He had the power to raise Lazarus from the dead.  The centurion heard and believed. He was expecting Jesus to speak resulting in his servant’s restoration to health. And Jesus confirmed “…as you have believed, so let it be done for you” (Matthew 8:13). Each one of these individuals demonstrated awe-inspired reverence, and expectation and they were submissive to the authority of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is still speaking through His Word to each of us today. What outlandish word has He given to you? Every word He has spoken has a purpose and that purpose will be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:11). “By My stripes, you are healed” (Isaiah 53:5) was spoken to me in answer to prayer with resulting healing of an incurable disease. This served as a foundation upon which the Lord gave me other words:  As I child of God I possess His immeasurable and unlimited resurrection power (Ephesians 1:19); I possess the very life of Christ Himself (Ephesians 2:5,6); I received power because the Holy Spirit came upon me (Acts 1:8); Jesus’ name is above every name (Philippians 2:9). Doing nothing by myself, but by the power of God, I have seen blind eyes and deaf ears restored, the lame to walk (actually to dance) and severe gastrointestinal symptoms immediately halted! Scripture is clear, we are blessed if we believe what God has spoken to us and we will see the manifestation of what He has said (Luke 1:45). “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37).

Believing in our hearts causes us to confirm with our mouths. This is what happens when you believe in Jesus Christ and confirm Him as your Savior. This is how we are saved and made just as if we never sinned (justified) (Romans 10:9,10), becoming the workmanship of the Father (Ephesians 2:10).

The world will tempt us to hear things contrary to God’s Word and our emotions will betray us. But Jesus tells us “Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing” (Mark 5:36). “Faithful is He Who is calling you (to Himself) and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it (fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you) (Amplified 1 Thessalonians 5:24). Make the decision to believe what God has said and to “…run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before you” (Amplified Hebrews 12:1); live in the fullness of God from His ability. In His strength, you can do what may seem impossible! Believe and you will see the glory of God!
