A Way Through... Being Hopeful

Life challenges us to be hopeless. Like a freight train, situations come against us, baiting us into this dark place. When we are challenged, humanity leaves us no other choice than to go down this slippery slope. But there is another path if we choose to take it. By Jesus Christ, we have been given a “new birth into a living hope” (1 Peter 1:3). This living hope is an inheritance that can never spoil or fade (1 Peter 1:4); an inheritance that is provided to the children of God because they believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Almighty. This inheritance is the priceless and unfailing love of a living God (Psalm 36:7). Knowing His love rescues us from despair, as in His presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Joy is not dependent on our circumstances. Negative circumstances do not alter His love, provision, or care for us. Instead in the presence of the Lord, there is a confidence that He leads, guides, provides, and equips us to meet every challenge (Psalm 23:1; 2 Peter 1:3). God has given us Himself, through Jesus Christ. Fully equipped in Him we benefit from His wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). We walk in the light of His presence. There is no hopelessness in Him! The treasury of His love fills us to overflow with His abundance if we decide to stay focused on Him, with expectation for the fulfillment of His Word (John 10:10; Isaiah 55:11).
Make a decision for 2025 to not be distracted from Jesus. Yes, problems will come, and temptations will occur. But God has promised that you can do all things because He strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). There is always hope in Him, the One Who promised to never leave you or forsake you; the One that loved you enough to send His Son to be born for you, suffer for you, and die for you. Praise Him at all times for His great mercy; “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). You can praise Him at all times because you know Him, you know His love…
