Lord, I confirm that You are my shelter. When temptation and trouble come, and everything looks gloomy and threatening, I know the strength of Your arms and Your love for me. You are my confidence. That is why You are my refuge during every threat. You have a power the enemy can’t stand against (Psalm 91:1). As I cry out to You, I am refuged in You and You perform on my behalf; my reward comes from You. You bring to pass Your purposes for me and surely complete them (Psalm 57:2). You go to work, take action against the enemy who threatens me, who tries to swallow me up by killing, stealing and destroying (John 10:10). But Your power is against him as I partner with You. You are the Greater One! “You send forth Your mercy and lovingkindness and truth and faithfulness” (Psalm 57:3). “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let Your glory be over all the earth” (Psalm 57:5).
Trouble should not and will not cause me to stumble, doubt, and look away from You. You are too loving, too kind, too wonderful! “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody” (Psalm 57:7).
I cause my inner self to awaken and inform my life as I praise You because this is where You reside. I am encouraging myself in You by worshiping and honoring You even during times of trouble, for You are my God. I see trouble, know it, and experience it, but You are my Fortress, Shelter, and Deliverer! Nothing is too great or difficult for You. You are superior to everything. “For Your mercy and lovingkindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth and faithfulness to the clouds” (Psalm 57:10). “Be exalted O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth” (Psalm 57:11). My trust is in You, magnificent and wonderful Lord!
Since I am one with You, I will not be shaken. Though attacks against Your Word come through circumstances that try to present themselves stronger than You, I will not be moved from You Mighty God, and Your truth! And You infuse inner strength into me and cause me to stand firmly and well-balanced in You. I am strong in You Lord, and the power of Your might (Ephesians 6:10). I take my position in You, fully armored, so I am able to stand during all threatening circumstances and keep on standing (Ephesians 6:13)!
You always have Your sight on me (Psalm 112:6). You care for me affectionately and watchfully (1 Peter 5:7). You never fail me, or give me up or leave me without support; You never leave me helpless or relax Your hold on me (Hebrews 13:5). Knowledge of this gives me comfort, encourages me and causes me to be confident in You. I say “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm or struck with fear (Hebrews 13:6)! “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear” (1 John 4:18). As I know Your love I am strengthened against fear. In You, there is no dread. If You are for me who or what could be against me; You are the Greater One (Romans 8:31). I trust You and I am confident in You (Psalm 118:6).
“And when I am weak (in human strength) then am I (truly) strong (able, powerful in divine strength)” (2 Corinthians 12:10 Amplified). I look in triumph over all the work of the enemy because You defeated him and brought him to nought, making a bold display of him (Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:15). He has no right to me, a citizen of heaven, translated into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Your Son (Ephesians 2:19; Colossians 1:13). I am a temple of You, the Living God against which satan has no power (1 Corinthians 6:19). My heart and attention are fixed on You and these truths cause me to be courageous and triumphant, not in myself, but because I rely on You, and because of my position in You. I am a child of God experiencing my inheritance!
